Founded in 1972 and incorporated in 1984, Wishing Well Fund, Inc. began as an informal group of caring individuals who wanted to help families in need. This not-for-profit, all-volunteer organization has proudly served over 7,500 families since.
All families come to us as referrals from professionals who are aware of a true need. Our objective is simple: to help enhance the lives of individuals and families in need. Throughout the year, we assist families with a variety of necessities, like providing food for themselves and their children, home repair, emergency help with utility bills, or a one-time mortgage or rent payment.
In addition to our year-round support, we focus on making the holidays happier for approximately 150 – 170 families by delivering food baskets during Christmastime. Each basket is stocked with enough food for several days and something for the kids.
Besides the families and individuals we are able to serve directly, we also donate to other charities and organizations, such as food banks, homeless shelters, food kitchens and other groups in line with our mission to aid those in need.
Wishing Well Fund, Inc. consists of about 10 – 15 unpaid volunteer Board Members with many more Associate Volunteer Members who devote their time and efforts toward making a difference in their community. We are especially thankful for the volunteers who come each year to deliver the Christmas food baskets and those who make our fundraising possible.
We host an annual fundraising event each fall and dedicated the proceeds to the purchase of the food and other items for our food baskets that will be delivered in December.
